Educational Goals
I completed the requirements for the Online Master’s in Educational Technology (OTEC) and the advanced level of the Certificate in Online Learning and Teaching (COLT) program this past spring 2012.
Educational Philosophy
I believe education is an ongoing evolution of sharing and learning which can interactively occur in many forms by stimulating all senses in a collaborative effort to grow knowledge. In our daily lives, we grow in many aspects. We grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually. We grow at home, in school, at work and through social interaction. We grow individually and collectively. We influence others as we are influenced by others. Education is no longer restricted to a physical classroom. Instead, education is a global phenomenon with limitless boundaries.
Technology in education is a fundamental key for creatively designing a compelling and engaging curriculum. As educators, we have the privilege, honor, and opportunity to facilitate learners’ experiences and help them achieve their greatest potential. Learners who develop a hunger for knowledge also gain valuable life skills. Educational success is perpetual and twofold. We succeed in a continuous state of learning and teaching.
Reflection
My educational journey in the OTEC program was rigorous and fulfilling. I am thankful to have been a part of a wonderful family of students and inspiring instructors. I learned more than I could have imagined and look forward to lifelong friendships with my colleagues! Visit my blog for a reflection of my experience.
