ETEC 652D Authoring E-Learning Environments: Virtual Reality
We explored the potential of teaching and learning in Second Life (SL), a virtual world environment. The effective process included research and experience of simulated learning environments. We also considered prior research and studies on the topic. As we experienced SL firsthand, we applied what we learned to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instruction in SL. The final project allowed us the opportunity to do all of this by designing and building a prototype module for an instructional unit specifically for SL. A live presentation of the module was given in SL and learners completed the prototype module asynchronously which provided good information to make improvements.
